Outings with Mr. Rodriguez offers weekly summer adventures for young men ages 12–18. Led by David Rodriguez — a wise, funny, and soulful mentor — this program provides emotional support, confidence-building, and connection through nature, games, music, and laughter.

Too many young men feel disconnected, unsure of where they belong, or overwhelmed by pressure to “man up” without the tools or support to grow with emotional intelligence.

We created Outings with Mr. Rodriguez to offer a gentle, grounded, and joyful alternative — a space where boys can just be boys, without judgment, surrounded by nature, humor, guidance, and occasionally a good dog.
What We'll Do

Our summer adventures are fun, flexible, and designed to nourish the spirit, strengthen confidence, and create meaningful memories. With a mix of overnight camping trips and weekday local outings, each experience is guided by kindness, laughter, and a commitment to authentic mentorship.

🌄 Overnight Camping Adventures

  • Camp under the stars on the Colorado prairie or in piney mountain woods

  • Explore hiking paths, and swimming holes.

  • Practice archery and nerf battles.

  • Learn collaborative cooking, fire building, and light camp chores

  • Gather for music, storytelling, reflection, and connection around the fire

🎒 Weekday Local Outings

  • Park BBQs, hanging out doing some of the following activities:

  • Authentic relating games, Empathy circles, and community building

  • Archery, slacklining, and low-pressure team games

  • Flow arts, movement games

  • Music appreciation, voice improv, and creative expression

  • Chill chess tournaments and board game cafes

  • Visits to Denver-area museums, E-sports arenas, and art centers

  • Volunteering for Mutual Aid Mondays at Civic Center Park

  • Possible Day trips to Boulder, Fort Collins, or Colorado Springs for nature walks and curiosity-based learning

This is a slow-living, heart-centered summer designed to meet each young person where they are — building trust, friendship, and inner strength through meaningful shared experiences.

This program aims to serve young men ages 12–18 in need of mentorship.

It’s ideal for boys and young men who:

  • are creative, shy, sensitive, or curious
  • Would benefit from a kind male mentor
  • Prefer non-competitive fun
  • Might be struggling with confidence, belonging, or transition
  • Are lacking strong male role models in their lives

We believe every young person deserves access to mentorship, nature, and community — especially those who may not otherwise have the chance.

While many families spend $1,200 or more on elite summer camps, the youth who most need connection and support are often left out. Outings with Mr. Rodriguez is built to serve all — and your sponsorship makes that possible.

🙌 Suggested Sliding Scale:

  • $65–$120 per outing (based on your means)

If you can send your child to camp, consider sponsoring a camper from an underserved background. David works directly with marginalized and at-risk students in who would deeply benefit from a safe, empowering space this summer.
